Your Purpose Redefined
When your purpose is being redefined for you by higher powers, the unfolding is magical, your frequency vibrates higher, your intuition is heightened, and your ability to SEE beyond YOU is enlightening.
Each day I learn something new about myself; the things that bring me immense pleasure, what sparks my interest/curiosity, and what ignites the joy within me.
On Tuesday, May 31, 2022, I realized how much I had come full circle; from the days of teaching my mother's plants, because I thought I'd become a teacher, to now, when I offer my time as a mentor, as well as share my knowledge and life experiences with others through my stories. I'd say that's still a form of teaching, wouldn't you?
It's funny how sometimes the very thing that we try to avoid is the very thing that oftentimes sums up our purpose on this earth. My purpose is being redefined. Or rather, as Jimmy Cliff says...
The dark clouds of fear and imposter syndrome that drummed loudly in my head all these years are now being dimmed by the light of my purpose. And mi nuh suffer from "hard-ears" as much these days. I'm now hearing "the call" that has been there for so long and finally answering, as I'm so led.
I've answered "the call" a few times this year. A podcast interview with the English Coach Podcast from Germany, that I probably wouldn't have agreed to do before; an "out of the blue" television interview to talk about my blog; and being a Guest Speaker for my FIRST EVER Career Day session to high school and university students. As a matter of fact, this was my first time being a Guest Speaker for an event. Mummy, I did it!
These opportunities and the lessons learnt from them are not lost on me. They are a signal of my growth and a testament that my work is not going unnoticed. I'm happy I said yes to e-v-e-r-y single one of them. They have made me more vulnerable. And, when one is finding oneself while living and being authentically perfect in one's imperfection, and sharing from a place of love, then vulnerability takes center stage.
This vulnerability, this redefinition of purpose, is all part of the plan for greater things to come. I'm claiming it for me and for you my readers. Be like me, start saying yes more often to the things that scare you. Who knows, you might surprise yourself, or better yet, you might be surprised. I certainly am being surprised every day. As C. JoyBell C. said, "Don't be afraid of your fears. They're not there to scare you. They're there to let you know that something is worth it."
By the way, your purpose doesn't have to be one thing, it's not static. It can change as you change, grow or evolve. Or, your purpose can be redefined because your current situation dictates just that. Go with the flow and give it your best shot! Do it scared like I'm doing these days. Say yes more often. Oh, the joy you might just happen upon! And, tell me how it's working out for you. Let's share and compare notes. Are you now feeling more purposeful? I know I am.
